The Department of Transportation missed their October 28 deadline for announcing the new Hours of Service (HOS) rules. There is no date as to when the new HOS rules will be announced.

Over the past two months I have given several presentations highlighting the uncertainty regarding HOS. Afterwards people have asked: "Is this really that big a deal?" The answer is: "Yes!" If you're a Senior Executive that has to run a trucking company, one basic question that needs to be answered is this: "How many hours will my drivers be able drive?"
